Living close to the festival? Awesome! Pedestrians can get to the festival via the walking routes to both entrances:
A smart choice! We provide 2 secured and free of charge bicycle parkings, one at each entrance.
It’s not possible to charge your electric bicycle. Please be careful when riding your bike after the festival and make sure you’re clearly visible in the dark.
The most convenient way to travel to Extrema from your city! Just hop on and get driven straight to the entrance. After the festival, the bus drives you home safely. Carefree and sustainable!
You need to book a ticket in advance, starting at €34 for a round trip. All info regarding departure cities, planning and tickets can be found on the website of Keolis.

From Hasselt station, there are regular bus shuttles from and to the festival. Ideal to combine with your train or bus journey, or if you live near Hasselt!
The bus stop is right in front of Hasselt station and stops at parking RED. After that, a 10 minute walk gets you to entrance RED.
Book your return ticket at only €12,50 in advance via our ticket shop.
The shuttle bus to Hasselt goes back and forth constantly during these times:
TRAIN
The nearest train station to the festival is Station Hasselt. Immediately after arrival in Hasselt Station, you can take the bus shuttle to the festival from Friday to Monday (see above for info and ticketlink).
The website of the NMBS has a great route planner.
BUS
The closest bus stop of ‘De Lijn’ near Extrema is Houthalen Kelchterhoef. You can plan your bus journey via this planner of De Lijn.
To improve your comfort, we will organise new Kiss & Ride zones closer to the festival, so you don’t have to take a bus shuttle anymore. Both K&R zones are about a 20-minute walk away from the entrance.
Only use the following links to navigate to K&R RED or K&R BLUE:
K&R RED: best option coming from E314, take exit 30
K&R BLUE: best option coming from the north
Please note: Taxis, Ubers and visitor rental vehicles can only pick up and drop off customers at these Kiss & Ride zones!
Do you have one or more spare places in your car, or are you looking for a ride? Slinger is a tool that matches 'ride sharers’ and ‘ride searchers’ with each other, to carpool together to Extrema.
Sharing a ride becomes part of the event! Share in the fun before and after the event – while at the same time reducing CO2 emissions and sharing fuel and parking costs wherever possible. Book or offer your ride through the widget in the corner of this page, or via this link.
We have car parkings for day visitors near both entrance RED and entrance BLUE.
While both parkings RED and BLUE are for day visitors, RED is also the parking for camping, resort and VIP visitors.
To navigate to the parkings, please follow the road signs and the provided information on your ticket and in your ticketmail. We will guide you to RED or BLUE based on where you come from.
Reserve your spot and purchase your day or weekend parking ticket through our ticket shop now, and save € 5 on the price. We strongly recommend downloading your parking ticket in advance as internet connection is known to be weak around the festival area.
Driving to the festival? Make sure you’re completely alcohol- and drug-free behind the wheel - it’s the only way to keep yourself and everyone else safe on the road. Read more on Groot Gelijk dat je drugsvrij rijdt.
It is forbidden to sleep in your vehicle on the parking lots, and campers and mobile homes are not allowed.
